CAIP™ certification process, validity & use

How to earn the Certified Cognitive AI Professional (CAIP™) credential, how its validity is maintained, and how holders and employers use and verify it.

Process

The certification process

1. Apply

Submit the online application with your supporting documents. You receive an application reference to track your status.

2. Enrol in a course

CAIP™ courses are available through CEF-approved (Continuing Education Fund) courses at tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong, and as customised corporate in-house training delivered by authorised partners.

3. Complete the programme

Attend no less than 21 hours: at least 18 hours of live, in-person lecture plus 3 hours of proctored examination.

4. Pass the live exam

Sit the proctored, in-person multiple-choice examination and pass all sections (approx. 70%–80% benchmark per section, dynamically set by item difficulty).

5. Receive your credential

Successful candidates are issued a verifiable AIKm CAIP™ digital badge and are listed in the AIKm Registry.

Validity

Credential validity & renewal

Registry record
The AIKm Registry is the authoritative public record of valid CAIP™ credentials. Employers can verify a credential at any time by credential ID or name.
Renewal policy
The formal validity period and renewal cycle are being finalised by the Certification Task Force (TBD) and will be published here once confirmed.
Governance
The examination and syllabus are governed and regularly reviewed by the AIKm Certification Task Force, keeping the credential aligned with evolving Hong Kong and international standards.

Use

Using your credential

The CAIP™ credential signals verified, in-person-assessed competence in cognitive AI governance and delivery.

Employer verification

Employers and clients can authenticate your credential directly in the AIKm Registry — no letters or phone calls needed.

Protecting the credential's value

To protect holders and employers, AIKm may review or revoke a credential obtained through misrepresentation or misconduct. The registry always reflects the current status of every credential.
