CAIP™ certification policy
Eligibility, fees and the renewal cycle for the Certified Cognitive AI Professional (CAIP™) credential — what applicants should expect before they apply.
Eligibility
Who can apply
CAIP™ is designed for professionals who lead or support AI adoption inside an organisation. Applications are reviewed individually against the criteria below.
Professional background
A degree or professional qualification, or equivalent working experience in engineering, IT, data, risk, compliance, project management or a related discipline.
Relevant experience
Practical involvement in AI, data or digital transformation work — delivery, governance, procurement, audit or programme leadership all qualify.
Supporting documents
Identity document, CV, and evidence of qualifications or experience are uploaded with the online application form.
Language
Instruction and assessment are delivered in English, with Cantonese and Putonghua support during live sessions.
Fees
What it costs
Programme fees are confirmed per cohort. The pricing page lists the current fee structure and any cohort discounts; where a figure is still being finalised it is marked so you can request it directly.
- Application review
- Charged once per application; covers document review and eligibility assessment.
- Programme and examination
- Covers live lectures, course materials and the proctored examination sitting.
- Re-sit
- A reduced fee applies to a re-sit of the proctored examination.
- Registry listing and digital badge
- Included with a successful certification; no separate charge.
Fees are quoted in HKD and confirmed in writing before payment. Corporate and cohort rates are available on request.
Renewal
The renewal cycle
The formal validity period and renewal cycle are being finalised by the AIKm Certification Task Force. Until they are published, the position below applies.
- Current validity
- Credentials listed as active in the AIKm Registry remain valid and verifiable; nothing lapses during the interim period.
- Expected structure
- A fixed validity period from the issue date, evidence of continued professional practice, and an administrative renewal fee.
- Notification
- Holders are notified by email at the address held in the registry before any renewal requirement takes effect.
- Registry re-listing
- On successful renewal, the registry record and digital badge are updated with a new expiry date.
Conduct and records
Standards that apply throughout
- Holders must represent the credential accurately and only while it is listed as active in the registry.
- The CAIP™ mark, badge and registry record may not be altered, reproduced or transferred.
- Examination misconduct results in withdrawal of the credential and removal from the registry.
- Registry records are maintained by AIKm and corrected on request by the holder.
